There are a few appetizers I crave whenever we host a party. Onion dip is by far my favorite, especially when eaten with chips. Don't get me wrong, the premade jar version is delicious, but I found making it at home just as easy and even more delicious. This Caramelized Onion Dip is absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer for your next party!
All sliced onions and butter to large pan on medium-low heat. Season with salt and cook until onions are golden brown and have a jam like consistency, about 30-45 minutes. Stir onions occasionally while reducing.
Deglaze pan with white wine, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom on the pan. Cook until there is no standing liquid. Remove onions from heat.
In a large bowl, combine onions, sour cream, cream cheese and worcestershire sauce. Chill and serve cold. Enjoy!
