Caramelized Onion Dip

Caramelized Onion Dip

Michelle Boulé
There are a few appetizers I crave whenever we host a party. Onion dip is by far my favorite, especially when eaten with chips. Don't get me wrong, the premade jar version is delicious, but I found making it at home just as easy and even more delicious. This Caramelized Onion Dip is absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer for your next party!

  • Chef's Knife
  • Saute Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Small Bowl

  • 3 Yellow Onions Sliced
  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • ¼ Cup Dry White Wine
  • 12 Oz Sour Cream
  • 8 Oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • All sliced onions and butter to large pan on medium-low heat. Season with salt and cook until onions are golden brown and have a jam like consistency, about 30-45 minutes. Stir onions occasionally while reducing.
  • Deglaze pan with white wine, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom on the pan. Cook until there is no standing liquid. Remove onions from heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine onions, sour cream, cream cheese and worcestershire sauce. Chill and serve cold. Enjoy!
