  • Cast Iron Skillet

  • 1 ½ Pounds Flank Steak
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • Thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper


  • Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet on medium-high heat. Add olive oil to pan. Add steak and sear for 4-5 minutes per side. Remove steak from pan and let rest.
  • Turn down heat to a low setting. Add garlic to pan and cook for a minute or two.
  • Add butter and let melt. Whisk in flour until fully combined. Stir in beef broth, making sure to scarpe up all browned bits from pan for the sauce. Continue cooking until sauce is thickened. Season to taste with salt, pepper and fresh thyme. Serve over steak and enjoy!
