Hello! I'm Michelle Boulé (Boo-Lay), the creator, photographer, recipe developer and blogger behind Cold Weather Comfort. I'm based in Boston, Massachusetts, but originally am from New Hampshire.
I started my career off with studying photography in college. After graduation I worked in fashion producing photoshoots for a well know fashion photographer in New York City. Then I joined a small ECommerce start up that I eventually became the photo manager of and helped to IPO. It was a crazy time and even led us to move cross country to SF. But at the end of the day, my passion was food.
I wasn't always a foodie. I was actually a picky eater for most of my life. It wasn't until I started living on my own that I really got into cooking. Actually it took the prompting of my roommates and boyfriend to encourage me to start a blog.
From then on it was all about food. I absorbed everything I could. I took cooking classes after work, attended workshops, watched every episode of Top Chef, Master Chef and Great British Bake Off and ate all the food I could. And after years of practice I've gone from a novice chef to a professional blogger.
So if you're new to cooking and mess up, I feel you. I've been there. And your mess up can't be as bad as mine (you still have all your fingertips, but that's a story for another time).
When I'm not cooking I obsess over my siberian cat, Arya and my fiance Tai. I also love watching TV (Game of Thrones, The Office, Parks and Rec, etc) and pre Covid times loved traveling. My goal is to visit every national park in the US.
I can't wait to share my recipes with you. If at any time you have any questions, please leave a comment on the post or email me at [email protected] and I'll do my best to get back to you asap!
